<isc:description>
Ocean Signal rescueME EPIRB1 Pro Float-Free Category I EPIRB

The Ocean Signal rescueME EPIRB1 Pro combines a compact 406 MHz emergency beacon with a Category I automatic release housing for float-free deployment. Designed for commercial, fishing, and recreational vessels, the EPIRB1 Pro provides reliable global distress alerting through the Cospas-Sarsat satellite network without requiring a subscription.

The compact beacon features an integrated 66-channel GPS receiver, a 121.5 MHz homing transmitter, a high-intensity LED strobe, a 10-year battery replacement interval, and more than 48 hours of operating life at -20°C. The included automatic release housing allows the EPIRB to deploy and activate even when the crew is unable to reach it during an emergency.

Worldwide 406 MHz Emergency Alerting

When activated, the EPIRB1 Pro transmits a digital distress message on 406.040 MHz to the international Cospas-Sarsat search and rescue satellite system. The distress transmission includes the beacon’s unique identification and GPS-derived position, helping rescue authorities determine who is in distress and where the emergency is occurring.

The integrated 66-channel GPS receiver provides fast and accurate position acquisition. Proper registration of the beacon allows search and rescue authorities to associate the transmitted identification with the vessel, its owner, emergency contacts, and other information that may be valuable during a rescue response.

Category I Automatic Float-Free Housing

The EPIRB1 Pro includes a Category I Automatic Release Housing with an internal Hydrostatic Release Unit. If the vessel sinks, the housing is designed to automatically release the EPIRB. Once the beacon floats to the surface and comes into contact with the water, it automatically activates and begins transmitting the distress alert.

The beacon can also be removed from the housing and activated manually. When deployed aboard a life raft or on deck, the EPIRB should be kept upright with its antenna clear and an unobstructed view of the sky.

The automatic release housing is intended for external installation in a location where the beacon will not become trapped by the vessel as it sinks. The installation location should remain accessible for regular testing, inspection, and replacement of the Hydrostatic Release Unit.

121.5 MHz Homing Signal and LED Strobe

In addition to its primary satellite distress transmission, the EPIRB1 Pro broadcasts a 121.5 MHz homing signal. Search and rescue crews can use this signal during the final stages of a recovery to locate the beacon and vessel more precisely.

A high-intensity LED strobe producing more than one candela helps rescuers visually identify the beacon, particularly at night or during reduced visibility conditions.

Compact Design with Retrofit Mounting Adapter

The EPIRB1 Pro is approximately 30% smaller than many traditional EPIRBs, helping reduce the amount of space required for installation. The beacon weighs approximately 422 grams, while the complete beacon and automatic release housing weigh approximately 1,250 grams.

The included retrofit adapter provides mounting options that correspond with the installation holes used by several older and larger EPIRBs. This can simplify replacement of an Ocean Signal E100 or E100G, Jotron Tron 60S, or McMurdo E5 or G5 without requiring an entirely new mounting arrangement.

Beacon Registration and Maintenance

Every 406 MHz EPIRB must be registered with the appropriate national authority. Registration allows rescue authorities to identify the vessel and contact the registered owner or emergency contacts when an alert is received.

Registration with NOAA is required and provided free of charge for beacons registered in the United States. The beacon registration should be updated whenever the vessel, owner, emergency contacts, or other registered information changes.

Register or Update a U.S. 406 MHz Beacon with NOAA

The EPIRB should be regularly inspected and tested in accordance with the Ocean Signal manual. The Hydrostatic Release Unit should generally be replaced two years after installation and no later than three years after its date of manufacture. The beacon battery must be replaced after an emergency activation, when indicated by the self-test system, or before the expiration date marked on the beacon.

<isc:description>
Ocean Signal rescueME EPIRB1 Manual-Release GPS EPIRB

The Ocean Signal rescueME EPIRB1 is a compact, manually deployed Emergency Position Indicating Radio Beacon designed to provide worldwide distress alerting through the Cospas-Sarsat satellite network. Supplied with a Category II quick-release mounting bracket, the EPIRB1 is well suited for recreational boats, fishing vessels, commercial craft, life rafts, and emergency grab bags.

When activated, the EPIRB1 transmits the vessel’s distress alert, unique beacon identification, and GPS-derived position to search and rescue authorities. The beacon requires no subscription and provides a direct connection to the international satellite-based search and rescue system.

Worldwide Satellite Distress Alerting

The EPIRB1 transmits a powerful digital distress signal on 406.040 MHz to the Cospas-Sarsat satellite network. The integrated 66-channel GPS receiver determines the beacon’s position so that its location can be included with the emergency transmission, significantly reducing the area search and rescue crews may need to cover.

Once the signal is received, the alert is forwarded to the appropriate Rescue Coordination Center and local search and rescue authorities. Registering the EPIRB allows rescuers to connect the beacon’s unique identification with the vessel, its owner, emergency contacts, and other important response information.

121.5 MHz Homing Signal and Dual LED Strobes

In addition to its primary 406 MHz satellite transmission, the rescueME EPIRB1 broadcasts a 121.5 MHz homing signal. Search and rescue aircraft and vessels can use this signal during the final stages of the rescue to help locate the beacon more precisely.

Two high-intensity LED strobe lights flash between 20 and 30 times per minute to improve visibility at night and during poor weather or reduced visibility conditions.

Compact Manual-Release Design

The EPIRB1 is approximately 30% smaller than many conventional EPIRBs and is supplied with a secure quick-release bracket for manual deployment. Its compact size also allows the beacon to be stored in an emergency grab bag or carried aboard a life raft when appropriate.

A protective breakaway tab and covered operating controls help prevent accidental activation while keeping the beacon simple to operate during an emergency. The retractable antenna remains protected while the beacon is stored and extends to approximately 25.5 centimeters when deployed.

The EPIRB1 must be manually removed from its mounting bracket. Once released, the beacon may be manually activated or, in supported regions, automatically activated when placed in the water. The secure lanyard should always be attached to a life raft, survival craft, or person and should never be tied directly to a sinking vessel.

10-Year Battery and Extended Operating Life

The rescueME EPIRB1 uses a lithium manganese dioxide primary battery with a 10-year replacement interval. Once activated, the battery provides more than 48 hours of operation, even at temperatures as low as -20°C.

The beacon is waterproof to a depth of 10 meters and operates in temperatures from -20°C to +55°C. Routine beacon and GPS self-tests allow the owner to verify operation without transmitting an emergency distress alert.

Registration is free for U.S.-coded beacons through NOAA. Registration information should be reviewed regularly and updated following a change of vessel ownership, vessel information, contact details, or emergency contacts.

Register or Update a U.S. 406 MHz Beacon with NOAA

Important Safety Information

The rescueME EPIRB1 should only be activated during a situation of grave and imminent danger. It is a manual-release EPIRB and will not automatically release from its mounting bracket if the vessel sinks. Vessels requiring an automatic float-free Category I installation should consider the Ocean Signal rescueME EPIRB1 Pro.

The beacon should be mounted in an accessible location where it can be quickly removed during an emergency. It should be regularly inspected and tested in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions. The battery must be replaced after emergency use, following an extended accidental activation, when indicated by the self-test system, or before the expiration date marked on the beacon.

The new ACR GlobalFix V5 EPIRB combines 406 MHz satellite connectivity with Automatic Identification System (AIS) functionality. This means that when the EPIRB is activated not only does it transmit your emergency signal to the global Cospas Sarsat satellite rescue system, but it broadcasts an AIS safety message on VHF frequencies that can be seen immediately by any AIS equipped vessel nearby. Other great features include Return Link Service (RLS) technology that provides visual confirmation to the user that their distress message has been received, a 121.5 MHz homing signal, and visible and infrared strobe lights for easy target identification at night or in poor visibility. Another new feature is Near Field Communication (NFC) which allows users to monitor their EPIRB using a smartphone App. ACR is the global leader in marine safety and rescue technology and the new GlobalFix V5 EPIRB with AIS combines the durability and reliability they are known for with advanced technology designed to speed rescue response time.

Faster Rescues through the Pairing of Global and Local Rescue

The ACR GlobalFix V5 EPIRB accurately derives its position anywhere in the world using GNSS (GPS, Galileo, Glonass) positioning networks. Upon activation 406 MHz distress transmissions relay the GPS EPIRB (GPIRB) position, accurate to within 100 meters, to the worldwide Cospas Sarsat search and rescue satellite network. EPIRB identifiers and position information is relayed to ground stations through the satellite system initiating rescue operations. With advanced AIS technology now incorporated into the EPIRB, once activated an AIS signal is transmitted so that nearby vessels outfitted with an AIS transponder are instantly notified of the EPIRB location. AIS equipped vessels within VHF range of the EPIRB will see a safety message on their screens including MMSI vessel identification. Vessels in the area where the EPIRB has been activated can then start rescue and recovery operations immediately without having to wait for emergency response from the applicable SAR authority. AIS also allows local responders to easily pinpoint the EPIRB’s location which is presented as an AIS target on their onboard display. Nearby vessels with onboard AIS can navigate directly to the EPIRB by selecting the AIS target. This incredible technological advancement will speed recovery times which is sure to save lives.

Smartphone Connectivity utilizing Near Field Communication (NFC)

NFC (Near Field Communication) technology allows users to access EPIRB diagnostics using their smartphones. <isc:description>
ACR GlobalFix V6 Category I EPIRB with RLS and NFC

The ACR GlobalFix V6 is an advanced Category I Emergency Position-Indicating Radio Beacon designed for recreational and commercial vessels operating in coastal or offshore waters. Equipped with Return Link Service, smartphone-accessible diagnostics and an automatic float-free mounting bracket, the GlobalFix V6 provides reliable access to the worldwide Cospas-Sarsat search-and-rescue satellite network.

When activated, the GlobalFix V6 transmits a 406 MHz digital distress signal containing the beacon identification and GNSS-derived position. Its 72-channel receiver uses GPS, Galileo and GLONASS satellite constellations to determine a location accurate to within approximately 100 meters. A separate 121.5 MHz homing transmission helps rescue personnel locate the beacon as they approach the scene.

Visible white and infrared strobe lights provide additional assistance during nighttime rescues and other low-visibility conditions. The beacon is waterproof, buoyant and designed to operate for a minimum of 48 hours at temperatures as low as -4°F (-20°C).

Category I Automatic Deployment

ACR part number 2853 includes a Category I automatic-release housing with a hydrostatic release unit. If the vessel sinks, the bracket is designed to automatically release the EPIRB, allowing it to float to the surface and activate when it is out of the bracket and in contact with water.

The beacon can also be manually removed and activated. Category I brackets should be installed in an unobstructed exterior location where the beacon can float free without becoming trapped beneath railings, canopies or other vessel structures.

Return Link Service Confirmation

Return Link Service, or RLS, provides confirmation that the beacon's distress transmission has been received and localized by the Cospas-Sarsat satellite system and is being routed to the appropriate search-and-rescue authorities. A flashing blue indicator on the beacon confirms receipt of the Return Link Message through the Galileo satellite network.

RLS provides valuable reassurance during an emergency, but it is not a two-way messaging service and does not indicate that rescuers have already arrived or that a rescue mission has been launched.

NFC Smartphone Diagnostics

Near Field Communication allows beacon information to be viewed through the free ACR mobile app without activating the EPIRB. Place a compatible smartphone near the beacon's NFC area to access stored operating and testing information.

The app can display battery status, completed self-tests, GNSS test results, activation history and other diagnostic information. GNSS test details may include the test location, date and time, time required to obtain a position, number of satellites used and reported position accuracy.

<isc:description>
ACR GlobalFix V6 Category II EPIRB with RLS and NFC

The ACR GlobalFix V6 is an advanced Category II Emergency Position-Indicating Radio Beacon designed for recreational and commercial vessels operating in coastal or offshore waters. Equipped with Return Link Service, smartphone-accessible diagnostics and a convenient manual-release mounting bracket, the GlobalFix V6 provides reliable access to the worldwide Cospas-Sarsat search-and-rescue satellite network.

Category II Manual-Release Bracket

ACR part number 2854 includes a Category II manual-release bracket designed for quick access when the beacon is needed. Its grab-and-go release mechanism allows the EPIRB to be removed from the bracket and manually deployed without tools.

Unlike a Category I system, the Category II bracket does not include a hydrostatic release and will not automatically release the EPIRB if the vessel sinks. The beacon must be manually removed from its bracket. Once removed, it can activate automatically when it comes into contact with water or be activated manually using the beacon controls.

The bracket's one-way mounting design helps prevent the EPIRB from being installed backward, while an integrated deactivation magnet prevents unintended water activation while the beacon remains properly secured in the bracket.

Return Link Service Confirmation

Return Link Service, or RLS, provides confirmation that the beacon's distress transmission has been received and localized by the Cospas-Sarsat satellite system and forwarded to the appropriate search-and-rescue authorities. A flashing blue indicator on the beacon confirms receipt of the Return Link Message through the Galileo satellite network.

RLS provides valuable reassurance during an emergency, but it is not a two-way messaging service and does not indicate that a rescue mission has already been organized or launched.

<isc:description>
Ocean Signal safeSEA EPIRB3 Pro Category I EPIRB with AIS, RLS and NFC

The Ocean Signal safeSEA EPIRB3 Pro is an advanced Category I Emergency Position Indicating Radio Beacon combining worldwide 406 MHz satellite distress alerting with local AIS transmission, Galileo Return Link Service, Near Field Communication, and visible and infrared strobe lights.

Supplied with an automatic-release float-free housing, the EPIRB3 Pro is designed for recreational, commercial, fishing, and SOLAS vessels requiring an EPIRB capable of deploying even when the crew cannot reach the beacon. Its combination of global satellite alerting and local AIS locating technology gives search and rescue authorities and nearby vessels more ways to identify and locate the emergency.

Worldwide 406 MHz Distress Alerting

When activated, the EPIRB3 Pro transmits a digital distress message on 406.031 MHz through the international Cospas-Sarsat satellite network. The alert includes the beacon’s unique identification and its GNSS-derived position, allowing the appropriate Rescue Coordination Center to identify the vessel and begin coordinating a response.

The integrated 72-channel GNSS receiver uses GPS, Galileo, and GLONASS satellite networks to determine the beacon’s location. Position information is included with the satellite distress transmission and is continuously updated as the beacon drifts.

Local AIS Distress Transmission

In addition to notifying rescue authorities through the satellite network, the EPIRB3 Pro broadcasts an AIS distress target on 161.975 MHz and 162.025 MHz. The 1-watt AIS transmission can be received by nearby vessels, aircraft, and search and rescue units equipped with compatible AIS equipment.

The beacon transmits AIS Message 1 position reports and Message 14 safety-related status messages. Nearby AIS-equipped vessels can see the emergency target on their chartplotter or AIS display and navigate directly toward the beacon’s current position. This local alerting capability may allow a nearby vessel to begin assisting before dedicated rescue resources arrive.

Return Link Service Confirmation

The EPIRB3 Pro supports Galileo Return Link Service, commonly known as RLS. After the distress message has been received and processed through the satellite system, a return signal is transmitted back to the beacon.

A flashing blue indicator confirms to the user that the distress message, beacon identification, and position have been received through the satellite network. RLS does not indicate that rescue personnel have arrived, but it provides valuable reassurance that the emergency alert has successfully entered the search and rescue system.

Category I Automatic Float-Free Deployment

The included Category I automatic-release housing securely protects the EPIRB while allowing it to deploy without crew intervention if the vessel sinks. The housing uses an Ocean Signal HR1E Hydrostatic Release Unit to release the beacon as the vessel submerges.

After release, the EPIRB floats to the surface and automatically activates when its water contacts are exposed. The beacon can also be removed from the housing and manually activated during an abandon-ship emergency.

The automatic-release housing must be installed externally in a location where the EPIRB can float free without becoming trapped by railings, equipment, rigging, or the structure of the sinking vessel. The mounting position should also remain accessible for inspection, testing, and Hydrostatic Release Unit replacement.

NFC Smartphone Diagnostics

Near Field Communication allows beacon information and test history to be viewed using the free Ocean Signal mobile app. Placing a compatible smartphone near the NFC area on the EPIRB provides access to information without drawing power from the beacon’s battery.

The app can display the remaining battery life, programmed beacon information, the number and results of completed self-tests, GNSS test history, and the total time the beacon has been activated. GNSS test results can include the test location, date and time, time required to obtain a position, number of satellites used, and reported position accuracy.

Visible and Infrared Strobe Lights

The EPIRB3 Pro includes both a high-intensity white LED strobe and an infrared strobe designed for use with night-vision equipment. The visible strobe produces an average intensity greater than one candela, while the infrared light provides an additional locating aid for properly equipped search and rescue crews.

The combination of the 121.5 MHz homing transmitter, AIS position reports, visible strobe, and infrared strobe helps rescuers locate the beacon during the final stages of a recovery in daylight, darkness, poor weather, or reduced visibility.

Long-Life Emergency Performance

The EPIRB3 Pro uses a non-rechargeable lithium iron disulfide battery with a 10-year replacement interval. Once activated, the beacon provides more than 48 hours of operation at temperatures as low as -20°C.

The beacon is buoyant and designed for operation between -20°C and +55°C. Routine functional and GNSS testing allows the condition of the beacon to be checked throughout its service life. The manufacturer recommends monthly functional testing and periodic GNSS testing in accordance with the user manual.

Beacon Registration and Maintenance

Every 406 MHz EPIRB must be registered with the appropriate national beacon registration authority before it is placed into service. Registration allows search and rescue authorities to connect the transmitted beacon identification with the vessel, owner, emergency contacts, and other information that may be useful during a rescue response.

Registration is free for U.S.-coded beacons through NOAA. Registration information should be updated whenever the vessel, owner, contact information, or emergency contacts change.

Register or Update a U.S. 406 MHz Beacon with NOAA

The HR1E Hydrostatic Release Unit must be replaced two years after installation and no later than three years from its date of manufacture. The EPIRB battery must be replaced before its marked expiration date, following an emergency activation, or when indicated by the beacon’s self-test results.

Important Safety Information

The EPIRB3 Pro should only be activated in a situation of grave and imminent danger. Accidental or deliberate misuse of an EPIRB can divert search and rescue resources away from an actual emergency and may result in penalties.

The beacon’s lanyard is intended to secure the activated EPIRB to a life raft, survival craft, or person. It should never be attached directly to the vessel because the beacon could be pulled below the surface if the vessel sinks.

<isc:description>
Ocean Signal rescueME EPIRB3 with AIS, RLS and NFC

The Ocean Signal rescueME EPIRB3 is an advanced Category II Emergency Position Indicating Radio Beacon combining worldwide 406 MHz satellite distress alerting with local AIS transmission, Galileo Return Link Service, Near Field Communication, and visible and infrared strobe lights.

Supplied with a Category II manual-release mounting bracket, the EPIRB3 is designed for recreational boaters, offshore sailors, fishing vessels, and commercial operators who want the additional locating capabilities of an AIS-equipped EPIRB. The combination of global satellite alerting and local AIS broadcasting gives rescue authorities and nearby vessels multiple ways to identify and locate an emergency.

Global 406 MHz Satellite Distress Alerting

When activated, the EPIRB3 transmits a digital distress message on 406.031 MHz through the international Cospas-Sarsat satellite network. The transmission includes the beacon’s unique identification and GNSS-derived position, allowing the appropriate Rescue Coordination Center to identify the vessel and coordinate a search and rescue response.

The integrated 72-channel GNSS receiver uses GPS, Galileo, and GLONASS positioning networks to determine the beacon’s location. Position information is transmitted through the satellite system and continues to update as the activated beacon moves or drifts.

The Cospas-Sarsat service provides worldwide emergency coverage without a subscription fee. Proper beacon registration allows search and rescue authorities to associate the transmitted identification with the vessel, owner, and designated emergency contacts.

Integrated AIS Distress Transmission

In addition to notifying rescue authorities through the global satellite network, the EPIRB3 broadcasts a local AIS distress target on 161.975 MHz and 162.025 MHz. Its 1-watt AIS transmission can be received by nearby vessels, aircraft, and rescue units equipped with compatible AIS equipment.

The beacon transmits AIS Message 1 position reports and Message 14 safety-related status messages. Nearby AIS-equipped vessels can see the emergency target on a compatible chartplotter or AIS display and navigate directly toward the beacon’s current position.

This local AIS alert may allow a nearby vessel to begin assisting before dedicated search and rescue resources arrive. It also gives approaching rescue vessels and aircraft an updated target that can help them locate the beacon after it has drifted from its originally reported position.

Return Link Service Confirmation

The rescueME EPIRB3 supports Galileo Return Link Service, commonly known as RLS. After the distress message has been received, localized, and routed through the Cospas-Sarsat system, a return signal is transmitted back to the beacon.

A blue indicator light confirms that the distress transmission and beacon location have been successfully received through the satellite network and are being forwarded to the appropriate authorities. RLS does not mean that rescue personnel have arrived or that a rescue mission has already been launched, but it provides valuable confirmation that the emergency message has entered the international search and rescue system.

Category II Manual-Release Bracket

The EPIRB3 is supplied with a Category II quick-release mounting bracket. The bracket securely holds the beacon while allowing it to be quickly removed during an abandon-ship emergency.

The EPIRB must be manually removed from the bracket before it can be activated. Once removed, the antenna should be fully extended and the beacon may be switched on manually. The EPIRB3 can also sense contact with water and activate automatically after it has been removed from the bracket and placed in the sea.

The manual bracket should be installed inside the vessel in an accessible location where the EPIRB can be quickly reached during an emergency. The EPIRB3 will not automatically release from its bracket if the vessel sinks. Vessels requiring an automatic float-free Category I installation should consider the Ocean Signal safeSEA EPIRB3 Pro.

NFC Smartphone Diagnostics

Near Field Communication allows owners to review beacon information and test history using the free Ocean Signal mobile app. Placing a compatible smartphone near the EPIRB’s NFC area transfers stored information to the phone without using power from the EPIRB battery.

The app can display the beacon’s programmed identification, remaining battery life, number and results of completed self-tests, GNSS test history, and total activation time. GNSS test records can include the date and location of the test, time required to obtain a position, number of satellites used, and reported position accuracy.

This information provides a convenient way to confirm that the EPIRB has been properly maintained and is ready for emergency use before heading offshore.

121.5 MHz Homing and Dual Strobes

The EPIRB3 transmits a 121.5 MHz homing signal that can be used by properly equipped search and rescue aircraft and vessels during the final stages of locating the beacon.

A high-intensity white LED strobe improves visibility at night and during reduced visibility conditions. The EPIRB3 also includes an infrared strobe designed for detection by rescue personnel using compatible night-vision equipment.

The combination of satellite positioning, AIS target reporting, 121.5 MHz homing, and visible and infrared strobes provides multiple locating methods throughout the rescue process.

10-Year Battery and Extended Emergency Operation

The Ocean Signal EPIRB3 uses a lithium iron disulfide battery with a 10-year replacement interval. Once activated, the beacon provides more than 48 hours of continuous operation at temperatures as low as -20°C.

The EPIRB is waterproof to a depth of 10 meters for one hour and is designed to operate in temperatures from -20°C to +55°C. Built-in functional and GNSS testing allows the owner to check beacon operation throughout its service life without transmitting an emergency distress alert.

Beacon Registration

Every 406 MHz EPIRB must be registered with the appropriate national beacon registration authority before being placed into service. Registration allows rescue authorities to associate the beacon’s unique identification with the vessel, owner, emergency contacts, and other information that may be useful during an emergency response.

Registration is free for U.S.-coded EPIRBs through NOAA. The registration should be reviewed regularly and updated whenever the vessel, ownership information, telephone numbers, or emergency contacts change.

Register or Update a U.S. 406 MHz Beacon with NOAA

Maintenance and Safety Information

The EPIRB3 should only be activated during a situation of grave and imminent danger. Accidental or deliberate misuse can divert search and rescue resources from an actual emergency and may result in penalties.

The beacon should be inspected and tested in accordance with the Ocean Signal user manual. The battery must be replaced by an authorized service center before its marked expiration date, following an emergency activation, or when indicated by the beacon’s self-test results.

The supplied lanyard is intended to secure the activated EPIRB to a life raft, survival craft, or person. It should never be attached directly to the vessel because the beacon could be pulled below the surface if the vessel sinks.
