Garmin Signal RM 100 Remote Station
The Garmin Signal RM 100 adds full remote control of a compatible
Garmin Signal VHF 400 or Signal VHF 220 marine radio
from a secondary helm, flybridge, pilothouse or other location aboard the vessel.
Connected through the Garmin BlueNet network, the RM 100 provides access to VHF channels,
Digital Selective Calling, AIS targets, audio playback and other functions of the connected
Signal VHF radio. Its bright 3.5-inch color touchscreen, physical channel controls and included
fist microphone provide the same modern operating experience at an additional station.
- Remote control of Garmin Signal VHF 400 and VHF 220 radios
- Access to VHF, DSC, AIS and radio settings from a secondary location
- 3.5-inch color capacitive touchscreen with a bright 1,000-nit IPS display
- Garmin BlueNet network connection for communication with the primary radio
- Intercom functionality between remote stations and networked head units
- Included fist microphone with a built-in 5-watt speaker
- Adaptive noise cancellation for clearer voice communication
- Compact mounting depth for crowded or shallow helm installations
- Supports multi-station systems with up to five RM 100 remote stations
- IPX6 and IPX7-rated construction for exposed marine installations
Important: The Garmin Signal RM 100 is a remote control station and is not a
standalone VHF radio or AIS receiver. It must be connected to a compatible Garmin Signal VHF 400
or VHF 220 radio through the Garmin BlueNet network. The RM 100 also requires its own DC power connection.
Full Radio Control at a Second Station
The RM 100 gives the operator access to the connected Signal VHF radio from another location aboard
the vessel. This makes it possible to monitor channels, transmit and receive VHF communications, make
DSC calls and view AIS targets without returning to the primary radio.
The remote station follows the capabilities of the connected radio. When paired with a Signal VHF 400,
the RM 100 provides access to the radio’s Class B SOTDMA AIS transponder and AIS target information.
When paired with a Signal VHF 220, it provides access to the radio’s receive-only AIS information.
- VHF channel selection and radio control
- High- and low-power transmit selection
- Class D DSC operation
- Dedicated distress controls
- AIS target display and vessel details
- AIS collision and man-overboard alarms
- Direct DSC calling of selected AIS targets
- Access to radio settings and watch modes
Garmin BlueNet Network Connection
The RM 100 connects to a compatible Signal VHF radio using a single Garmin BlueNet network cable.
A 6-meter Garmin BlueNet cable is included, providing a straightforward connection between the remote
station and the vessel’s Garmin marine network.
Up to five RM 100 remote stations can be connected to a compatible Signal VHF 400 or VHF 220, allowing
radio control from multiple helms and operating positions aboard larger vessels.
- Compatible with Garmin Signal VHF 400
- Compatible with Garmin Signal VHF 220
- Garmin BlueNet and Garmin Marine Network connectivity
- Supports up to five RM 100 stations per compatible radio
- Includes a 6-meter Garmin BlueNet network cable
Intercom Communication
The integrated intercom provides direct communication between the RM 100 and other networked Signal
VHF head units and remote stations. Crew members can communicate between the primary helm, flybridge,
pilothouse and other stations without using the vessel’s VHF channel.
This is particularly useful aboard larger powerboats, commercial vessels and multi-deck installations
where crew members may be working in separate operating areas.
Modern Touchscreen Interface
The 3.5-inch, 640 x 480-pixel IPS touchscreen provides clear access to radio channels, DSC controls,
AIS targets, audio playback and system settings. Its 1,000-nit backlight is designed for visibility in
bright daylight.
Physical controls remain available beside the touchscreen, including a rotary control, dedicated channel
16 button, back control and protected distress button. This combination provides fast access to critical
functions while retaining the flexibility of a touchscreen interface.
- 3.5-inch color IPS LCD
- Capacitive touchscreen interface
- 640 x 480-pixel resolution
- 1,000-nit display brightness
- Dedicated channel 16 control
- Protected distress button
- Night-vision display mode
- Multi-language interface
Clearer Communication
The included fist microphone features adaptive noise cancellation to reduce wind, wave and engine noise
during transmissions. A built-in 5-watt RMS speaker provides clear radio playback directly at the remote
operating position.
The RM 100 also provides access to the connected radio’s automated squelch, advanced channel watch modes
and VHF audio playback. Missed radio traffic can be replayed for up to three minutes on any channel.
- Adaptive background noise cancellation
- Fist microphone with built-in 5-watt RMS speaker
- Automated and manually adjustable squelch
- Up to three minutes of VHF audio playback
- Dual-watch, tri-watch and preset-channel watch modes
- NOAA weather channel and alert access through the connected radio
- External speaker support
Compact Multi-Station Installation
At only 1.2 inches deep, the RM 100 requires substantially less mounting depth than the primary Signal VHF
radio. This makes it well suited to flybridges, towers and secondary helms where space behind the mounting
surface may be limited.
The front design and dimensions match the Garmin Signal VHF 400 and VHF 220, creating a consistent appearance
across multiple helm stations. The remote station operates from 9.6 to 32 volts DC and includes the necessary
power and network cables for installation.
