The CAMINO-108S is AMEC´s next generation Class B AIS transponder allowing you to broadcast your data to other AIS-equipped vessels and receive their data by viewing on a dedicated chart plotter or PC – the essential way to improve collision avoidance on the water.

CAMINO-108S is designed to deliver a high-performance AIS transponder solution. The optimized receive and transmit capability is now brought into a compact and robust housing which is less than half the size of its previous generation.

The dual-channel receivers enable AIS vessel monitoring of all AIS signals including Class A, Class B, AtoN, SART. Its NMEA2000, NMEA0183 and waterproof USB port ensure simple integration with chart plotters and PCs.

The CAMINO-108S is includes an integrated VHF antenna splitter and an output connector that goes to your antenna input for your VHF radio. The unit saves space and includes technology to recover the loss from sharing your single VHF antenna with your AIS transponder and VHF radio.

The CAMINO-108S requires a GPS antenna to function. A portable "puck" GPS antenna is now included. If you require an external marine-grade GPS, please add our MA-700 GPS antenna to your shopping cart.

Camino 108S review
Recently purchased and self installed a Camino 108S from MIlltech Marine. It was relatively easy to install and worked great right off. Mounting space was tight under the dash but found some spaces for the Camino and the GPS. The gps unit picks up multiple satellites very well from the under dash mounting area and by using the splitter I was able to use the existing VHF antenna with no new wiring or antenna mounting needed. Tied it into my older Garmin 4210 chartplotter NMEA 2k network and it works great. On a recent boating trip to the Broughtons and cruising in fog, it was good to be receiving and transmitting positions along with radar. Doug at Milltech was great to work with and very helpful with email / phone support for the install questions that I had. Thanks!

S/V Play'n Hooky
Bought Camino-108S for my boat after doing a delivery run where AIS was very helpful. Just installed today and it was straight forward. I have mine pushing data to my IPAD running INavx so now I have AIS targets displayed on my IPAD/Chartplotter. Love it!!!!! Milltech was great with prepurchase questions and order & delivery. Will shop here again.

Really happy with this purchase. The unit is small and simple to install into a Raymarine system...everything worked immediately. Built-in VHF antenna splitter at this price point meant i saved several hundred dollars over Garmin or Raymarine. I'd definitely recommend for anyone.

The Camino transponder works flawlessly, but I am most impressed with Milltech Marine's support. With so many options making an electronic purchase is confusing. Milltech helped guide me to the right product for me, then offered tremendous support in getting it hooked up and running. Milltech even helped identify a problem caused by my existing GPS (it needed a firmware update). It is possible to find lots of good products, however it is amazing to find a company that offers such great advice and support before and after the sale. I would give more stars if possible.

Works as advertised. Great price. I am pleased with fit and finish of product . I completed a self install on my sailboat without problems. An added bonus of this unit is the FM antenna that really improved my radio reception. If you purchase make sure to fuse power correctly and to get correct data cable for your chart plotter. Cat 6 cable works fine.

The transponder came preprogrammed from Milltech, it was easy to install, and works fine with the included "puck" antenna. My only gripe was that the cable to connect the transponder to the VHF radio, at 4 ft, was too short for my use.
