The CAMINO-108 is AMEC´s Class B AIS CSTDMA transponder allowing you to broadcast your data to other AIS-equipped vessels and receive their data by viewing on a dedicated chart plotter or PC – the essential way to improve collision avoidance on the water.

CAMINO-108 is designed to deliver a high-performance AIS transponder solution. The optimized receive and transmit capability is now brought into a compact and robust housing which is less than half the size of its previous generation.

The dual-channel receivers enable AIS vessel monitoring of all AIS signals including Class A, Class B, AtoN, SART. Its NMEA2000, NMEA0183 and waterproof USB port ensure simple integration with chart plotters and PCs. Built-in SD card slot makes data logging of AIS data easier than ever.

Added this to my sailboat for the Marion to Bermuda Race. Unit works great, and was easy to install. Would recommend. The folks at Milltech Marine were helpful with delivery and follow up. Will do business with them again.

Excellent product
This is a very well designed product and the documentation is very well written (note that there are a few errors in the printed version that came with the product but the online version is corrected). Thanks to the comfort provided by the AIS transponder I have now removed the radar from my boat (I am not suggesting that to other boaters).

AIS Camino 108 is GREAT
I just finished my install of this AIS transponder Camino 108 and it is a fantastic unit. I have been using the SR 161 AIS receiver since 2007, and when I saw this unit at the Annapolis Boat show 2015, I had to buy it, What I like most about this unit is that it will talk to NMEA 183, NMEA 2000 and USB which means this unit will connect to multiple outputs and it will allow me to connect this to my future nav screen when ever I buy one. Right now, I am using the USB output into a laptop and running the free OpenCPN nav software to see the targets. This is the same way I used the SR 161 since 2007. I also added a simple $10 GPS puck and I placed this under the deck on a bracket inside the below decks nav station. IT gets 14+ satellites below deck, so no need for me to tap back into my existing NMEA Raymarine GPS stream. Over all, I think this AIS is outstanding, and this company is great to work with. I recommend this unit 100%. If you want to see photos of my install, see my forum post in the IPYOA dot com slash forum

Easy install
The unit came quickly and the install went well. I have a Raymarine system and wad worried about how the unit would integrate. It works perfect. My second Milltech purchase and both times fist time need help and the phone support was fantastic, this time no help needed. When I bought the unit, I had 2 MMSI’s, Milltech discovered it and made sure I used the correct one.

Purchased a Camino-198 for our 41' American Tug. Very pleased with how easy it was to install, fits right in with our older Raymarine E-120 electronics. Can't say enough how great the customer service was from Milltech and how quick the shipping was. Doug was very quick to provide complete and easy to understand answers all my questions and concerns when comparing various transponders.

WORKS GREAT AND CAME ALREADY CONFIGURED!!! I liked it. Plug and chug. I am waaay too busy working on OTHER items that need my REAL attention. I do not need to be playing with configurations. Milltech Marine did it for me and sent me a unit ready to go, out of the box. Plug and chug. Fast install, no brain time required.
