The Airmar DST820 Smart™ Multisensor combines depth, speed-through-water, water temperature and vessel attitude data in one compact, low-profile thru-hull sensor. Designed as the next-generation replacement for the DST810, the DST820 adds enhanced device security while retaining Airmar’s highly responsive Gen2 paddlewheel and convenient wireless calibration through the Airmar CAST™ app.
The DST820 connects directly to an onboard NMEA 2000® network, allowing compatible chartplotters, instruments and navigation systems to share accurate depth, speed, temperature, heel and trim data. Its integrated Bluetooth® Low Energy connection also provides direct access from a compatible smartphone or tablet for sensor setup, calibration, configuration and maintenance.
Airmar’s Gen2 paddlewheel is engineered for responsive and consistent speed-through-water measurements across a wide operating range.
The DST820 connects directly to the free Airmar CAST app using Bluetooth Low Energy. This allows the sensor to be configured and calibrated without navigating through menus on the vessel’s chartplotter or instrument display.
Calibration and configuration settings are stored within the DST820 and delivered across the vessel’s NMEA 2000 network.
The DST820 introduces UK PSTI-compliant security for its wireless connection. Initial setup uses a sensor-specific QR code and one-time password, helping prevent unauthorized mobile devices from connecting to or changing the sensor’s configuration.
The DST820 uses a low-profile, retractable thru-hull housing with a self-closing valve that helps limit water entry when the sensor insert is removed for cleaning or servicing. The plastic housing is suitable for fiberglass or metal hulls with deadrise angles of up to 22°.
Its standard 2" installation diameter allows the DST820 to fit most existing Airmar 2" thru-hull housings, providing a straightforward upgrade path for many vessels currently equipped with a DST810 or another compatible Airmar sensor.
