MiniPlex-3 Series models

The MiniPlex-3 Series NMEA multiplexers comprises a range of advanced NMEA multiplexers which combines data from multiple navigation instruments.

Through an advanced filtering and routing system, this data can be sent to other navigation instruments and to computers, tablets and smartphones.

A bi-directional SeaTalk1 interface enables conversion between SeaTalk1 data and NMEA 0183 sentences. This conversion works both ways, allowing the MiniPlex-3 to replace Raymarine's SeaTalk-NMEA bridge (E85001).

The top of the line MiniPlex-3Wi-N2K model with an NMEA 2000 interface connects directly to an NMEA 2000 backbone and converts between NMEA 2000 PGN's, NMEA 0183 sentences and SeaTalk1 datagrams in all directions and supports Wi-Fi connectivity to mobile devices.

All data is available on one or more computer interfaces in NMEA 0183 format. NMEA 2000 PGN's and SeaTalk datagrams for which no NMEA 0183 equivalent exists, can be converted to special NMEA 0183 sentences, allowing software developers to support processing of raw NMEA 2000 and SeaTalk data.

Each and every port on a MiniPlex-3 multiplexer is galvanically isolated from the internal electronics and from every other port. This guarantees that no ground loops will be created when adding a MiniPlex-3 to a navigation network. It also ensures a trouble free connection to any type of NMEA 0183 port of any device.

All MiniPlex-3 models come with 4 NMEA 0183 input ports (one of the four can be used for SeaTalk input and output instead of NMEA 0183 input) and 2 NMEA 0183 output ports. Choose the MiniPlex-3 model that best meets your connectivity needs.

Great product
My NMEA 0183 was a mess. I had connected a Vesper AIS and things were working but the data was incomplete and the instruments would sometimes blink out. I sat down and read the 0183 specifications and understood I had two talkers on the network, the AIS and my instruments, and they were just hard-wired together. I needed a solution. Milltech obviously knows their stuff. They don’t just carry any old hardware, this equipment is obviously vetted. I found the ShipModul and realized it’s exactly what I needed. So I downloaded the manual that was so helpfully linked right on the site. After reading the manual I was convinced this was the right product. I decided to install this unit during a two week cruise we have coming up. This would be a perfect little project in some quiet anchorage. I spoke to Milltech and they said no problem, you’ll have it before your trip I had it three days before my trip. I decided to do a dry run, just hook up the wires and see what happens. Within two hours I had the whole system working and now I’m just amazed at all the connectivity I was missing on. Looks like that quiet anchorage will be enjoyed more than spent doing wiring. This unit has excellent manuals, it’s rugged and well designed. The software is robust and well documented. I found it straightforward to work with. But don’t get me wrong, getting the wiring and settings just right takes patience. The software is available for Mac and Windows. The only negative are the push down wire terminals are really finger torture devices. I still prefer them to screws. The software is a little clunky, but it’s robust and well documented so it’s ok, it’s just for occasional use. Thank you Milltech for carrying great products, for fast shipping, and for delivering on your word. I will do business with you again.
